How to fill in timesheets

How to fill in and submit timesheets in Canobi.

To fill in a timesheet in Canobi, log into your Canobi account and select the Human Resources tab at the top of the page. Then select My Current Timesheet from the left-hand menu, under the heading Time Tracking. Your current timesheet will display. By default, you will see the timesheet for the current or most recent period. To enter your hours for a different Timesheet Period, select the calendar icon next to Timesheet Period, and select the start date and end date of the Timesheet Period you want to fill in.

To enter your hours for the current timesheet period, select the Add a Line button. Select the down arrow to access a list of the accounts that your time can be tracked in. These may be specific projects, tasks, or activities; company departments; or a general account such as “Payroll” depending on how your company is choosing to use the Analytic Accounting module. Your manager will tell you what project or projects to allocate your time to. Select the Add button. You can now enter the number of hours you worked on that project or in that department on each day of the timesheet period. You can enter whole numbers or decimals (such as 7.5), and Canobi will automatically calculate partial hours. Note that you have the option to enter hours for all 7 days of the week. Once you have entered all your hours for that project or department, select Save at the top of the page.

To allocate your hours to more than one project or department, select Add a line and select the appropriate account. Select Add and enter your hours for this account, then select Save.

To mark your hours as billable, select the Details tab, then select Edit at the top of the page. On the far left next to each entry, select the line under Invoiceable then select the down arrow. From the options, select the appropriate level of billing for your project or activity. Your manager will tell you if you need to do this step, which allows the accounting department to produce invoices.

Once you have entered all your hours for the timesheet period, select Submit to Manager at the top of the page.

The status of your timesheet, as displayed in the top right hand corner of the screen, will change from open to waiting approval.
